SUBJECT:

Shocking News: 8 States Now Fighting for 10 Commandments!

MESSAGE:

Alabama is not the only battleground for the Ten Commandments. Court battles to save the Commandments are currently being fought in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Ohio, Utah, and Washington. The situation is getting much worse. Is your state next?

You can help put a stop to unholy attack on our Christian liberties, and it won’t cost you a dime!

LifeLine Communications, the Christian Long Distance Company, has a special plan to help save the Ten Commandments. By switching to our new low-rate long distance plan, or our unlimited long distance and local phone service plan, you can help fight to lift up the name of the Lord in America’s halls of justice.

There are currently three organizations fighting to protect your Christian rights in Alabama and other states. Click here to find out who these organizations are, and how you can help them fight for religious freedom in America by switching to LifeLine!

Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will Keep My Commandments” (John 14:15). Thank you for Answering the Call!

oh dear… a day of meetings lays before me… normally i have 1-2 meetings on wednesdays… today i get a bonus “All-Staff” nasty… these are always interesting… and they always manage to turn an hour and a half into four or five hours… it helps greatly that we’re already 15 minutes behind schedule starting…

ok… here’s some bathroom talk… isn’t it funny how we are somewhat “ashamed” of going to the bathroom in front of others… come on, admit it… you have not gone on occasion because you thought someone was paying attention to frequency or whatever… it’s almost as if it exposes a weakness… as if anyone really cares… actually, i bet some people i’ve worked with have kept a chart somewhere of my comings and goings…

oh well…

so… have you ever typed in rhythm to the music you’re playing at the time… yeah, so, i’m doing that now and i have to keep going back and correcting because i can’t really keep up and type what i’m supposed to…

so… suddenly Xanga has become plagued with the Drama of CMC… eh, never mind… when i started journaling online years back, i crossed that hurdle of insecurity too…

so… maybe i’m too critical… but i’m finding more and more that on Sundays i worship God despite the singing portion of the service…

i’m sure there’s more to be said…

yeah, i should’ve posted here today . . . i actually should’ve done a lot today . . . anyway, disgusting thought of the day . . . there’s a Christian rap act named TRE-Z . . . no way that’s not a copycat of Jay-Z . . . it’s despicable . . .

so here’s a weird story… On one of the cross streets near my house there are a few horse stables… and yesterday in one of the front yards was a dead horse… sure enough, four stiff horse legs sticking out under a hot pink blanket laid out in someone’s front yard… fortunately, i keep an aluminum bat in my trunk at all times… so i pulled over, grabbed the bat, ran over to the corpse and went to work… i must’ve hit that thing like 50 or 60 times before the house owner came out and tried to catch me… i quickly hopped in my ride and sped off… i must say though… that was a great release… and it felt strangely like reading through the posts at a certain message board lately…

okay… now for those of you that totally missed that… yes, there was a dead horse on that street in someone’s front yard… no, i didn’t pull over and assault it with a baseball bat… yes, i believe that the CMC message board has become the platform for dead horse beating…

anyway… it’s pretty darn tough to write numerous reviews for the same CDs and still keep it fresh… this is a good exercise for me…

so, here’s the story, in three parts… it’s actually not nearly as big a deal as i make it out to be… but it is very irritating… and very much true… some of you have heard parts of this “saga”… some have heard the whole thing… sorry, if i bore you… let me know what you think…

Why I Won’t Shop at Christian Bookstores Anymore …
Part One: The Creepy Guy

so, i go to check out and i’m getting two hip hop CDs and the guy across the counter grabs my hand and reaches around to give me a pound… the dude rings me up and he’s talking to me… he asked me how i was doin’ i said chillin’… and he asked about the CDs i was gettin’… i said that i definitely had to pick up the dj maj, but wasn’t all that sure about lil IROCC… he said it was ok, and i thought that he was talking about the CDs still… but then he launched into this speech about how i need to get into the Word more and start really reaching out to the people in my neighborhood… how if i really listened to the Holy Spirit He would tell me that i need to be more serious and study the Bible more — i was like, dude i said chillin’ not illin’… then he was like, it’s okay man, God can get you through these hard times, greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world… then he wrote down his email addy and started walking out with me… and he was like, man, i want you to email me tonight, and we can start talking more, and i can give you some sites to check out and we can work through this… then he gave me another pound and “bound” the demons that were attacking me…

Resolution: no… i never emailed him but if you have any spam… forward it to… JustKidding@potatosackraces.com… anyway… i kinda shook this encounter off… and have been back to the store since (hence the remaining two parts)… you know, take what you can from all experiences seperating the truth from the nonsense and let it improve you…

Why I Won’t Shop at Christian Bookstores Anymore …
Part Two: If you want static, go sit in a dryer

So, this part isn’t too long… Not too far back, a CD was released by a group called FM Static… Not a major release, but still pretty heavy push… Anyway… try as i may, i couldn’t get BEC to send me a copy to review… but, having heard some of the tracks, knew that this CD would fall easily into my play list… So i roll into the shop in the evening on the release date… First i headed over to the demo section… see, they sell demos for 8 bucks instead of full price… (they have a fancy new system for previewing CD clips)… No Demo… then i pick through the new release section… No Static… then i look through the regular shelves… No Static… Quickly poke through the store double-checking all the end caps and displays and sure enough… No Static… so i left… came back that friday… same deal… no Static… following tuesday… no Static… following tuesday… there finally is Static, for $15 and no Demo… since i had a coupon, i picked it up… a week later i see that Walmart has it for $11… what a waste…

Resolution: i thought, hey, i should buy it at Walmart and return it and get my $4 back… but no, that’s more of a hassle than $4 can compensate for… Anyway… i basically sucked it up and dealt…

Why I Won’t Shop at Christian Bookstores Anymore …
Part Three: Our Employees… Are Clueless?

So, just yesterday i extended my return commute to check the Christian Bookstore… pretty big release date… Amy, Petra, Mars ILL, Passion, Charlie Hall, OTR, etc… Pretty much wanted to see what’s what with the displays etc… so i get there around 5:30 PM… and wouldn’t you know it… not a single new release is anywhere to be found… i hit up the Demo section and caught some RR, and was gonna get that… then… well, first.. i managed to track down a store employee wandering aimlessly around the store empty-handed… i’m thinking he was trying to avoid customer interaction… and i ask him about new releases… he says… “what are you talking about?”… CD releases… “oh yeah, i’m in the process of that”… then after much attitude, i convince him to let me see some of the new stuff… so, i sit around waiting while he moseys around trying to get me some copies to look at… then i ask him about demos and turns out they are no longer selling demos… their fancy new system never works… and they need demos again… oh well… i figure $15 a pop is a bit hefty for me right now… Walmart was cheaper… so that’s it… no more CB for me… and if i release a CD… strictly hitting “real” stores that understand the value of making product available…

Resolution: i’m gonna write a letter to this particular chain and give them some valuable feedback that they will probably ignore… we’ll see what happens…

see… told you it wasn’t that big of a deal… i’m just mean-spirited… pray for me and i’ll pray for you…
