NOTE: i know it looks long… but it reads quickly so stop whining…

ok… i’m gonna try this… you have no idea… well… maybe you do… but anyway… here i sit with several paths down which i can travel…. avenues on which to tread… (things to do, for the metaphorically challenged)… and i’m choosing you right now… we’ll see how it works out… let’s see… what to talk about… i might not get too deep today since i’m waiting for the seas to part… so how about we start out with some loose ends…

i went to Creation East last week… yes i did… i have over 15 pages of notes, 250+ pictures, and a lossened bundle of stuff floating around in my head to pick through while i compose the official write up(s)… what? what’s with the “(s)”?… well i guess you’ll have to be a little patient… so anyway i got to Creation, stayed there a few days… saw some shows (including a certain band that everyone loves)… met a dynamic duo of sorts… if you know them, then you already know who i’m talking about… and then i went home… and as it turns out… some people still like me (i think)… anyway… i’ll tell you all here… since i probably shouldn’t talk about it on my official platform… but all the press people that were there… well, they were weird and pretty annoying… there i said it… most of them were deejays at Christian radio stations who probably got to come to Creation as their annual bonus… but the bottom line is that i so didn’t fit in with that crowd, thankfully… oh, one dude asked me at least five times where i was from… yeah, the same guy… and i think he might have asked me to take his picture but man did i blow him off… anyway… stay tuned for some more xanga-exclusive features from Creation 2oo4… or something… no really…

consider this a public service announcement… yes, i AM just as abrasive and mean in real life as i seem to be online… don’t believe any other stories…

have i mentioned that you all should run out… that’s right RUN… and buy the new project from Cool Hand Luke… or click this link and buy it while you sit there… it’s superb…

here’s something else… i’ve noticed that i lead two lives… well, so it seems anyways… at least two… but anyway… i’ve noticed that the people who know me in three dimensions (for the most part) have very little confidence in me… they tend to shrug off the TRu as nothing but a joke, or a silly hobby… they chuckle when i mention that i’m working on writing a book… but, people that i’ve met online… aren’t like that… they tend to believe in me… look forward to the next review or feature… and can’t wait for the book… maybe it’s just easier for them to lie over the net… maybe it’s just me… maybe there’s something different about knowing me first versus knowing my words first… it’s just odd… i mean, someone close to me that has known me for quite a long time… recently read my Jars of Clay concert review… and commented… “you really sound like you know what you’re talking about”… thanks, i think…

anyway… i’m out of time… but before i go… how about a picture… from Creation… i know you’ve all been eagerly waiting for this one…

that’s right, it’s Swoosh 20… heh… no, i’m not done with this pic yet… stay tuned…

mission accomplished… thanks to all those who helped… the important thing is that we all had fun… it was an exciting ride… all the way down to the last few minutes… now… to be fair… please continue to follow the game… it may not cook up that hot again but it’s generally a grand old time… at least look after it while i’m gone… gone? yeah that’s right… i’m heading up to Creation tomorrow and i’ll be there for the rest of the week… pretty cool, huh? well… i should be getting ready and sleeping or something…

ok… i’m interrupting my normal xanga updates… to issue this special call to arms… for those of you who post on CMC regularly i’d greatly appreciate it if you’d help me with an expiriment… i’m trying to see how many people i can get to vote for the song “You Don’t Know” by Kiki Sheard… (it’s kind of a challenge, and if you like Jeremy Camp, it’s the best way to keep his song in the competition)… so if you wouldn’t mind… head over to THIS THREAD… hit “Add Reply”… and type something along the lines of “My vote is for Kiki – You Don’t Know”… your help will be greatly appreciated… more later…

NOTE: we only have until 9PM today…

ok… let’s do this… the Father’s Day sermon at church was based around Genesis 34… interesting choice for Father’s Day… for those of you searching for it online or flipping your pages… it’s a passage that is called “The Dinah Incident”… and what an incident it is… Dinah was Jacob’s daughter… and our pastor gave a great message about how the decisions made by a parent (specifically a father as the spiritual head of a Christian family) can really dictate how things go for your family… to drive this point home, you really need to know the context (as with most passages)… so, in the previous chapter you can see how Jacob has lied to his brother… disobeyed God and has ended up in Canaan among a sinful people that God has cursed (Gen 9:25)… so… here’s it is… they’re in Canaan and the “Dinah incident” takes place… basically, Dinah heads off into the city, she gets raped and the whole family is in disarray… after Shechem (who raped Dinah) does the “honorable” thing by proposing marriage (an action that would violate God’s decree)… Jacob “holds his peace” and says nothing… well, his sons decide that some action is required… so they devise this absolutely brilliant scheme… (seriously, what a smart battle plan)… and they end up killing every male Canaanite in the city… this brought grief and fear on Jacob… but the question that my pastor asked was, “Why is this in the Bible?”… certainly his usage of the passage was fitting… and God shows Jacob grace in the next chapter, which is a good illustration of how loving God is despite all the sins we may commit… but i think there’s another reason too… see… God cursed the Canaanites… and he wanted them blotted from the face of the Earth… instead, here they were inhabiting the “promised land”… now, someone who doesn’t believe might take that to mean that God doesn’t have control over things… However, here is an incident that transpired from a series of events that no one would want to occur in their own lives… Jacob is afraid of Esau… he lies to him… he moves to a place other than where God told him to move… his daughter gets raped… his sons become lying, coniving murderers… and through all this, despite all this (in the eyes of mortal humans)… God’s will is fulfilled… the Canaanites are humiliated… a whole city is slain by two sons of Jacob… clearly, God’s will is accomplished in all circumstances, whether we willingly help accomplish it or not…
