“I love you, you numb my pain, when I get… Overloaded… You’re voice is my novacaine… when I feel… Overloaded… . . . Life’s got me overloaded… I’m living way too overloaded… ” – 4th Avenue Jones (Overloaded) ooh, yeah… so i’m treating my ears over and over with this new 4th Ave CD… this song in particular is like woah… what a great worship song… ha ha… that made you all do a double take now didn’t it?… anyway… the future holds much more for this album and myself… so i’ll save some up for then… so why is it that the evil geniuses and criminal masterminds get all the press and attention… what about those of us with noble intentions… wait… did i just call myself a genius?… maybe on some level… certainly in scrabble… in fact, i’ve decided that my new nickname is “The Scrabbster”… which is obviously short for Scrabble Master… You’ll. Never. Shut. Down. the REAL. Scrabbster. anyway… here’s this week’s links to the CMCentral reviews… they went up Wednesday instead of Thursday because i was a little overloaded… but we’ll just pretend it’s because one of the reviews was for the new Anberlin album which includes the song “Day Late Friend“…
so blogging has caught on in my office… i guess it’s been around here for a while, but no one ever really talked about it… now it’s not uncommon to hear my coworkers discussing something they read on one another’s blogs… not that there’s anything wrong with it… though, i’ll admit, even if i know what they’re talking about… i pretend not to… i don’t know… i guess i’d rather hear it from them rather than reading it on a blog… it’s somewhat sad that the most open form of communication WITHIN THE OFFICE is either through blogging or through AIM… i guess we do have an open prayer time in the mornings once a week, but i’d have to fight the traffic and i’ve decided against that… maybe i should… as it stands now, anyway… it looks like my cavalier attitude towards the blogging craze has allowed this blog to stay under the radar for the time being… not that it’s a huge deal… i’m not all that interesting anyway so chances are, no one would expect my blog to be either… You know what i can’t stand?… bathroom sinks that are mounted at my knee height… seriously… if i have to bend over to wash my hands… i just get irritated… it’s not like i’m extremely tall, (i’m only around six feet tall)… and it’s not like i’m living in Japan… what’s the deal? Also annoying is people who ignore your emails… GAH!… i just have to remember that God has a purpose for them too… so i prepped my Doves, rather GMA Music Awards, nomination commentary last night… hopefully tonight i’ll get around to pumping out the actual comments and picks etc… i had to tweak the design a bit from last year’s piece… man… there’s just so much to do these days… and i have a meeting set up next week to talk about how i can serve more at the church… Oh, speaking of church… i was in a conversation the other day about our church and a potential building expansion project… the church i attend draws about a thousand attendees a week, split out over three services and what we’d like to do is be able to have everyone in the sanctuary rather than spilling some into the “overflow room”… the problem, as with many things here in the world, is that we don’t have the money to build again… we already still owe a significant amount on the original building project… now… let’s get one thing straight… there’s a lot of money in our church… a LOT… there are some seriously wealthy folks attending each week… so much so that if everyone was tithing money wouldn’t be an issue at all… so, why is it a problem?… because people don’t tithe… this topic actually came up the other day on the forums… some people are actually opposed to the idea of tithing… they argue that since the New Testament set us free from much of the Mosaic and Levitical laws, that the obligation of tithing was also done away with as well… i actually got my head bitten off when i pointed out that it was possible and very likely that this justification was rooted in a love of money… but anyway… riddle me this… if we weren’t supposed to tithe… why did Jesus praise the widow for giving a mite and chastise the rich man for giving less than ten percent of his wealth?… or why did the Church as it was founded in Acts ask for members to give all their possessions to support the church?… there are plenty of examples… the point is… if you love money, you aren’t fully devoted to God… simple as that… and with that… i shall disappear at the height of controversy… it’s a trick i learned long ago… get people all riled up and then walk away… that way they remember you forever… Do Your Ears Hang Low?… 4th Avenue Jones – Stereo: The Evolution of HipRockSoul Doctor, My Eyes…

Totally agree with you on the tithing bit. I can’t believe that people actually think that it was only an Old Testament thing. How is the church to support itself? DUH. That seems like a no brainer to me. Later, guy………Jame

I like your album reviews, especially the Anberlin one, because you had some insights into the songs that didn’t occur to me when I was writing my review. Just one thing – it’s “Stationary Stationery”. With an “e” the second time around.
Regarding blogging – sometimes I tell my roommate stuff that I’ve been up to in the past few days, and he’s like, “Yeah, I read it in your blog”. Then other times, I don’t mention stuff to him because I blogged about it and I know that he reads it (he’s the one who got me sucked into Xanga in the first place), and then he misses it and has no idea. I just can’t win.

Word on that Murlough. I can’t stand it when my real-life friends read my Xanga. It’s no fun telling them things in person now. Pshaw.

that’s why none of my friends of family know I have a blog…
agree with out on the tithing… I’ve learned that Im never in lack of anything… He’s faithful to me and I’ve learned to be faithful with my tithings… which what’s it called if you give more than 10%

no i was not drunk when i wrote the post above. What I meant to say was that none of my friends or my family know that I have a blog.
And that I agree with you on the tithing part. and that what do you call it when you give more than 10%? since tithing refers to only 10%.
