This is the first of perhaps many editions of what i’m calling Ten Words or Less… Since there were something like 25 new (Christian) albums released this week, and since i’m pretty terrible at buckling down and writing fullon reviews these days, here’s a bundle of quick takes on the albums that i got and had a few minutes to reflect about… i think it’s pretty self-explanatory, but feel free to send me any questions you may have… other than that, enjoy…

What: How You Live
Words: Nice gals. Nice Harmonies. A little country and that’s okay.

Watch for: “Fearless Heart”

Who: Caedmon’s Call
What: Overdressed
Words: No excuses necessary. It’s that good. Raw, emotional, important.

Watch for: “Share in the Blame“, “Start Again”

Who: Audio Adrenaline
What: Live from Hawaii
Words: Aloha means hello and fortunately (in this case) goodbye.

Watch for: “We’re a Band”

Who:Lenny Leblanc
What: All for Love
Words: Nothing too exciting, but a calm, low-key worship album nonetheless.

Watch for: “The Rain”

Who: NeedToBreathe
What: The Heat
Words: Backbeats? Check. Southern Tinged Rock? Check. NEEDTOBREATHE? Check ‘em out.

Watch for: “Restless“, “Signature of the Divine (Yahweh)”

Who: Robbie Seay Band
What: Give Yourself Away
Words: If you feel lost and tired, sing along. Beautiful album.

Watch for: “New Day“, “Go Outside”

Who:Surrogate
What: Love Is for the Rich
Words: Elogant and enchanting arrangements that make indie rock more appealing.

Watch for: “Death Penalty”

Who: Myron Butler
What: Stronger
Words: A little bit of funk to get your praise on.

Watch for: “I Live”

Who: Carried Away
What: I Want You
Words: If Hannah Montana could clone herself and become a trio.

Watch for: “Just Believe”

Who: Shane & Shane
What: Pages
Words: Sometimes it sounds like laughter, but it’s just joyful praise.

Watch for: “Burn Us Up“, “Psalm 62”

So there you have the briefest of brief takes on eleven of the latest releases.

The Myriad just signed with Kosmos Records, a new label imprint under the umbrella of Koch Records. They will be releasing an EP this fall entitled Prelude to Arrows EP, leading up to their proper sophomore release, With Arrows, With Poise. The band will also be touring with David Crowder Band on the Remedy Club Tour this fall. Interestingly enough Koch also signed a distribution deal with Floodgate Records, the previous label home for The Myriad.

As if the 25 releases from yesterday aren’t enough, also coming out with new music soon, Mitch McVicker is releasing another album in September called Love Will Rise. Recently independent, Paul Wright is releasing Kingdom Come in September. AND, Sanctus Real recently hit the studios again to start work on their next album… always something brewing…

i’m sure there’s more, but my time is up… coming later i’ll dive through a handful of the week’s releases and give you my thoughts in… ten words or less.
