So there you have the briefest of brief takes on eleven of the latest releases… best i can do right now…
i’m somewhat ashamed of myself for not promoting the heck out of this already… i’ve meant to post this video and show my support of the project and all that it stands for, but as i’m sure you’ve figured out by now, i am not always punctual with the updates… better late than never…
i humbly submit to you, Constance, by Mr. J Medeiros, the video for one of the most potent songs released this past year… the video that was too risque for MTV, probably because it hit too close to home… the song that exposes and discusses the ever-growing problem of porn and the exploitation of women and girls… here’s the video…
now, a few more related links:

This just in from Big Idea… (what follows is a press release)…
All-new Penguins! episodes to air on NBC, ION and Telemundo
At long last, Big Idea’s beloved flock of flightless fowl is back with all-new episodes airing on NBC’s Qubo Saturday morning block and on the ION and Telemundo networks.
After debuting last fall on NBC, the 3-2-1 Penguins! series garnered high ratings capturing the #1 spot on the kid-dominated Saturday morning television time-slot.
As a result, Big Idea’s crack-squad of Penguin-herders led by Tim Hodge (Director, Gideon: Tuba Warrior, LarryBoy and the Bad Apple, Minnesota Cuke, Duke and the Great Pie War, An Easter Carol, Star of Christmas …) is currently in production on 20 new episodes which will begin airing Friday, October 5th on the ION Network, and Saturday, October 6th on NBC and Telemundo.
The season premiere episode, entitled “I Scream, You Scream,” teaches a lesson in jumping to conclusions. Zidgel, Midgel, Fidgel and Kevin (Jason and Michelle too!) are back in action in a hilarious new world filled with faith, fun and flightless birds! Will the Kids and Penguin Crew learn to set aside their accusations and work together again, just in time to stop Cavitus’ hi-jacking of the ice cream delivery ship at the Comet Lounge? Find out this weekend!
Fear not, DVD lovers — you need not rely on network television to see this larger-than-life “gaggle” of Penguins! Big Idea is scheduled to release these new episodes on DVD beginning in 2008.

Been a while since i took a looks at this one… i mean, i’ve been reading, but it’s been a while since i actually wrote anything about it… so diving back in, let’s take a look at the introduction and see how Tommy has set the scene for us, shall we?…
First off, there’s some shout outs, where Tommy gives credit and thanks to all his friends and family and supporters throughout the writing process… and then comes the official introduction… “I love the church. I love hip-hop”… off to a good start since many people think these two statements don’t agree with each other… i think, however, that the audience for this book would’ve already gotten that these two loves can in fact coexist and therein, we have something of an issue with a confusion of audience – who the audience is and how they will be addressed… minor complaint, so let’s move on…
The book will be divided into three main parts, Tommy’s story, Hip-Hop’s story and Crossover’s (Tommy’s church) story… fair enough… i think it’s certainly a good idea to know who’s writing, what they’re addressing and what you can do to join in and that seems to be the thrust of the book and the sections should accommodate that well…
