Eleven right, three wrong… and oddly enough i picked the score for the Chargers/Vikings game correctly, but assigned them to the wrong teams… i can hardly believe that it’s already week ten of the season… and even though i’m pretty sure that most of you who read this don’t care about football, i’m picking this week’s winners too…

Bills over Dolphins (38-10)
Chiefs over Broncos (27-17)
Packers over Vikings (31-28)
Falcons over Panthers (24-20)
Saints over Rams (41-9)
Redskins over Eagles (30-21)
Titans over Jaguars (24-13)
Browns over Steelers (33-31)
Bengals over Ravens (37-13)
Lions over Cards (41-20)
Bears over Raiders (24-12)
Giants over Cowboys (30-27)
Colts over Chargers (44-24)
Seahawks over 49ers (26-16)

and now for some of my football related gripes for the year…

i’m a bit sick of the Patsterisks… they’re one of “my” teams (Bills, Packers, Patriots, Redskins – in that order), but i really don’t like the way they’ve handled themselves this year… there was all this talk about the *great* character of Tom Brady with his playboy lifestyle and out-of-wedlock baby drama… but, somehow, i’ve managed to overlook that on some level, since he’s such a great quarterback… then the “spygate” thing (side gripe: why do we add “gate” onto everything now? it’s like “-oholic”)… again, i wasn’t too concerned about that because i don’t understand how much they can gain from such footage… but running up the scores every week… i don’t know… there’s just not much class to that… i mean, if you’re up 38-0 and it’s 4th down, do you not just kick the ball? if not at 38-0, surely at 45-0, right? no, not if you want to completely embarrass the other team… keep in mind, i don’t have a problem with winning by 50 points or so, but going for it on 4th down twice with a big lead is just obnoxious…

Another team i’m sick of is the Steelers… not so much that they’re quietly winning like crazy… but every game i see of theirs is littered with terrible refereeing and all the bad calls coincidentally favor the Steelers… they made it to and won a Superbowl on the back of bad calls and it looks like they’re still getting them regularly… i watched a frustrating game of theirs against the Bengals that included a fumble that wasn’t a fumble but stopped the Bengals from getting a needed touchdown and a catch that wasn’t a catch that kept the Steelers alive on a touchdown drive… both plays were not only called wrong live, but they were both reviewed and both stood despite clear evidence that, the ball hit the ground instead of being caught and that the runner’s knee was down before the ball came out… it’s so irritating to watch bad calls, but moreso when it’s consistently in favor of one particular team…

okay… enough for now… i have plenty to work on, a basement to clean out and a new issue of CCM to thumb through… happy Saturday to you all…
