So, Bootsy Collins is apparently following me on Twitter… that is some kind of pressure… now i feel like i need to twit the funkiest of tweets… anyway… in one of my blunders, i requested a book from a publisher that is totally not up my alley… as such, i put it off as long as i could, but in the end couldn’t think of a better day to post this review… enjoy…

now playing: What’s Love Got to Do With It – Tina Turner

What’s Age Got to Do With It by Robin McGraw

first off, yes, this is book written specifically for the other gender… and yes, it landed on my desk… rather than ignore it, however, i cracked it open, ignored the “Okay Ladies, it’s time to talk” that begins the book and journeyed to the other side of life…

i’m not going to deny that i skimmed most of this book – believe me, i have no interest in the right makeup, how do handle menopause or what to consider when choosing the proper purse or heel height – but the gist of the book, that’s what i took note of… And here’s what struck me… Robin McGraw is one of the happiest looking celebrities on TV and this book explains why…

filled with personal anecdotes and an expert Q&A for seven of the eight sections, the book covers the full gambit of aging… again, more than i ever needed or wanted to know, but it’s certainly a book that i’d recommend to the appropriate audience…

in particular, i wanted to mention how the last chapter, the one about faith, could’ve easily felt like an obligatory add-on to ensure that the book sits well on the Christian Book Store’s shelves, but since faith was a thread that ran throughout the entire book, it instead served as a rather appropriate capstone to the story of an American gal and how she’s thus far completed the journey of life and maintained such a positive outlook on things… she’s truly an admirable person, not just another pretty face in the crowd…

peace… love… bdg…
