I normally try to ignore this stuff, but the unemployment rate crept up from 7.8% to 7.9% in today’s report and, typically, I believe the rate actually trends even higher as more information comes in. You might think that, since this is the final jobs report before the election, that this would be devastating news for the Obama camp. Or, you might see what the news cycle says about it…

“Job Growth Quickens,” “Modest Increase in Jobs,” and “Even at 7.9%, Still Mostly Good News for Obama.” What? Okay… so 171k jobs were added last month, but more than 171k unemployed were also added. Where is the good news? The growth of job seekers is outpacing the growth of jobs. How is this good news?

It’s certainly apropos that “Dementia” is the trending Top Story topic. Just saying.
